Outcut is a native VR video editor for Meta Quest 3 — think CapCut, but inside your headset. Built from the ground up for spatial interaction, it brings a full non-linear editing suite into virtual reality: scrub a timeline with your thumbstick, trim and split clips with precision, preview your footage on a virtual screen, and export the finished cut without ever removing your headset.
There's no desktop required, no file transfers, no switching contexts. You shoot in VR, you edit in VR. Outcut closes that loop for immersive content creators.
Trim & Split
Frame-accurate trim-in / trim-out controls and one-button split. Cut exactly where the playhead sits — no guesswork, no mouse.
Spatial Timeline
A world-space canvas timeline you can scrub with the right thumbstick. Clip blocks scale to duration so you always know where you are in the edit.
In-Headset Preview
Real-time frame preview decoded via FFmpeg and rendered to a virtual screen. Watch your edit play back at up to 15fps without leaving VR.
Undo / Redo
Full history stack. Every trim, split, and delete is reversible — experiment freely without fear of losing a good cut.
One-Tap Export
Hit Export and Outcut renders your finished cut directly to the headset's storage as an MP4. Ready to share, stream, or upload.
Media Browser
Browse all video clips on the device from inside VR. Tap a clip to load it onto the timeline instantly — no file picker, no typing paths.
Under the hood, Outcut is powered by a custom C++ engine. The result is a lean, fast runtime that runs entirely on the Quest's ARM processor. No cloud, no streaming, no latency.
For VR content creators, streamers, and developers building for the spatial web, Outcut is the editing tool that lives where your content already does.
It's currently in active development. Wishlists are active on the meta store.
